‘Editor’s Corner’ is a monthly-ish series highlighting what I’m loving, what I’ve been up to, what’s on my mind and more.
1. Etta is THREE! Some birthday highlights included: celebrating with family, a Peppa cake (by request!), birthday present shopping at Target, doing her first-ever birthday interview and giggling the entire time T, Lake and I sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her on her special day.
2. Lake had her dance recital this month. This year’s theme was “ICONS.” Her group’s ballet song was “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and their tap song was “Crocodile Rock.” Lake’s love for dance really took off this past year and so she auditioned for and successfully made her dance studio’s Company Team. We’re thrilled for her and excited to follow along on her journey. Etta just started dance this month and she is super excited to be in dance now like her big sister!
3. If you need a dance recital gift idea, I made this Barbie bouquet for Lake and her friend and it was a huge hit! I got the one dozen pink roses from Trader Joe’s (only $9.99!), pink wrapping paper from Dollar Tree and here’s the link to the Barbie.
4. T and I had a great time with friends at the Morgan Wallen concert at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Bailey Zimmerman opened for him and he was awesome as well. Whenever we’re in Minneapolis, I try my hardest to work in going to Smack Shack which has the BEST Lobster Roll – (Connecticut Style!) Thankfully we were able to and we also got to go to the Mall of America for awhile as well.
5. We had fun celebrating T on Father’s Day! We had brunch at Americana and took a stroll around Gray’s Lake.
6. Speaking of Gray’s Lake, this future playground and sprayground that will be constructed there looks pretty awesome.
7. Each year T goes on a trip with some of his friends from college. This year they went to Chicago and one of the highlights was seeing his beloved Chicago Cubs. The game didn’t get over until around 1 a.m. due to a rain delay but the Cubs pulled out a victory!
8. Lake and her best friend have been sporting this friendship necklace. We have a photo of them posing and “piecing together” each of their butterfly wings and it’s the cutest thing.
9. Big congrats to my niece, Danielle, who got married this month!
10. Taylor Swift’s favorite red lipstick is now available in pencil form.
11. This is so mind-blowing to me.
12. Just bought this for Lake for this summer.
13. And lastly, ONE GOOD QUOTE:
“If we did the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.”
