‘Editor’s Corner’ is a monthly-ish series highlighting what I’m loving, what I’ve been up to, what’s on my mind and more.
1. There was lots of fall/Halloween fun had this month!
- For costume day at school and ‘Beggars’ Night’ (what trick-or-treating is called where we live), Lake dressed up as Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and Etta was a Bumblebee.
- The girls had fun playing at The Farmyard at Center Grove Orchard. The Corn Pool was their favorite. We went on a 91 degree day because what screams ‘fall’ more than that?! This was the second time Lake got to visit Center Grove this fall as her preschool class took a field trip there last month.
- We had fun roaming through ‘Night Eyes’ at the Blank Park Zoo with some friends. It was pretty chilly but everyone still had fun dressing up, trick-or-treating and seeing all the lighted displays.
2. The girls attended a cute mermaid-themed birthday party at Adventureland Inn. The water was pretty chilly but they still had lots of fun swimming with their friends. We gifted the birthday girl a kids camera, which I love giving to kids for their birthday. The exact one we got her is out of stock but this one is similar to it.
3. T and I attended SZA’s SOS Tour in Chicago this month. She put on an incredible show and I definitely want to see her again sometime.
4. While we were in Chicago for the concert, I stopped by Aritzia. I got this coat for winter (in the shade ‘Rich Mocha Brown’) and I’m loving its warmth and coziness. Also, thumb holes! (I get as excited about thumb-holes as I do pockets).
5. I enjoy seeing what types of new advent calendar they come out with each year. This is a really neat one for LEGO fans.
6. Gotta talk some Taylor, of course:
- I saw The Eras Tour movie twice in the theater. Each showing had a different vibe. In one, the moviegoers sang and even got up and danced in the front of the theater and in the other showing, people were pretty reserved.
- The 1989 vault track songs are amazing. “Is It Over Now?” is far and away my favorite. I could not believe my ears when I heard the line “Blue dress on a boat.” (IYKYK)

7. This play was just so purdy. (Pun intended).
8. I have been loving this coffee-colored nail polish for fall nails.
9. I bought these Birkenstock Boston dupes last October. They’re still in great shape and I’m still wearing them on the regular.
10. Speaking of footwear, UGGs continue to be all the rage for the fall/winter season. I like to cover mine with a generous coating of this protectant spray.
11. This guy tried food from every state in America. (Iowa is at 12:43).
