At the end of every month I post what I call Editor’s Corner, where I write about what I’m loving, what I’ve been up to, what’s on my mind and more. I always wrap up each post with ‘ONE GOOD QUOTE.’ I thought it would be neat to have all of the quotes I’ve included so far in one dedicated post. I’ll continue to do more round-ups every year or so. I hope these quotes inspire you as much as they do me.
“There is always, always, always something to be thankful for.”
“Happiness is to be found along the way, not at the end of the road.”
-ROBERT UPDEGRAFF
“Love, above all, is your greatest investment. And authenticity will always be more important than perfection.”
“The nature of life is change. And the nature of people is to resist change.”
“Find more power in riding the waves than controlling them.”
“Life is amazing. And then it’s awful. And then it’s amazing again. And in between the amazing and awful it’s ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That’s just living heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life. And it’s breathtakingly beautiful.”
-L.R. KNOST
“May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.”
“People overrate intensity and underrate consistency.”
-BRAD STULBERG
“Remember the days you prayed for the things you have now.”
“Gratitude turns what we have into enough.”
“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”
-CHINESE PROVERB
“Doctors won’t make you healthy. Nutritionists won’t make you slim. Teachers won’t make you smart. Gurus won’t make you calm. Mentors won’t make you rich. Trainers won’t make you fit. Ultimately, you have to take responsibility. Save yourself.”
-NAVAL RAVIKANT
“How your life feels is so much more important than how your life looks.”
“Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and test of our civilization.”
-MAHATMA GANDHI
“What the new year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the new year.”
-VERN MCCLELLAN
“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
-VIKTOR E. FRANKL, MAN’S SEARCH FOR MEANING
“We don’t know them all, but we owe them all.”
(POSTED IN HONOR OF MEMORIAL DAY)
