I’m so excited to announce I’m pregnant with baby number two!
T and I are beyond grateful and elated to welcome a new member to our little family and for Lake to have a sibling!

I thought I’d answer some of the questions we’ve been getting from family and friends, as well as some other details about this pregnancy.
How far along are you?
I’m 30 weeks exactly today, so I’m a couple of weeks into my third trimester!
When is your due date?
July 15, but I likely won’t go past July 8.

When did you find out you were pregnant?
The day before Halloween.
How did you tell T the news?
I definitely won’t be winning any creativity awards for this! – I simply showed him the positive pregnancy test and we both celebrated. It was still very special, though.
When and how did you tell your families?
We told our families in January. Due to COVID-19, we told my brother via phone and T’s mom via FaceTime. We shared the news with the rest of our family and friends by texting them some of the photos in this blog post of Lake in her ‘Promoted To Big Sister Est. 2021‘ shirt.
Do you know the sex of the baby?
Yes!
Well…are you going to tell us?
Absolutely! The gender reveal will be on the blog (as well as Instagram and Facebook) tomorrow morning!

Did you do a gender reveal for family/friends?
We did not. Last pregnancy, we did a confetti cannon for the reveal for both sides of our families, but this time we just told everyone at the same time we told them we were pregnant since we already knew the sex.
Have you felt sick at all?
I had bouts of nausea during the second half of the first trimester. I didn’t experience any sickness at all when I was pregnant with Lake, so this was new to me. But other than that, I’ve felt really good so far.
Does Lake understand you’re having a baby/she’s going to be a big sister? <– The most asked question we’ve received!
T and I point to my bump and tell her “there’s a baby in mommy’s belly,” but then she looks at us like we’re from another planet, haha, so no, we don’t think she understands. I’m thinking about getting some books that may help her understand. Let me know if you have any recommendations!
What about Kevin – Do you think he knows you’re pregnant?
I’m not sure, but if I had to guess, no. He hasn’t acted any differently towards me since I’ve been pregnant and the same can be said for my last pregnancy as well.
Do you have a name picked out? <– The second most-asked question we’ve received!
We do! We’re keeping it a secret until birth, though. I think it’s fun to have something be a surprise at birth!
What’s your favorite thing about being pregnant?
Hands down, feeling baby’s movements. It never, ever gets old.

What do you miss during pregnancy?
Sushi and my beloved iced matcha lattes. (I choose not to drink caffeine when I’m pregnant – just a personal choice).
How has being pregnant during COVID-19 affected your pregnancy?
I feel very, very fortunate that COVID-19 hasn’t affected my pregnancy much up to this point. Especially in comparison to how I’ve heard and read it has affected pregnant women in other states and countries. I’ve had all of my appointments in person and T has been able to attend all of my ultrasounds. If I HAD to think of something that was affected, I guess it would be that we didn’t announce to family and friends in person, but that is SUCH a small thing in the grand scheme of things, as many people can’t do this even during normal times due to distance. I always wear a mask and wash and sanitize my hands frequently. When it comes to labor and delivery, time will tell what my hospital’s COVID-19 protocols will look like in July.
Will there be pregnancy and baby-related posts coming up on the blog?
Yes, there will definitely be an influx of pregnancy and baby-related posts because both are/will be a big part of my current stage of life. Not to mention, ‘Motherhood’ is one of my main categories here. I didn’t have my blog during my last pregnancy and so there are definitely topics that I want to write about.
What are you most excited about?
Oh my gosh, there are SO many things!
First and foremost, as I said in the beginning, T and I are just so incredibly grateful to be able to grow our family. The magnitude of this blessing is not lost on us and is something that we will never, ever take for granted.
I’m super excited for Lake to have a sibling. It will be so much fun to watch them play, interact and grow up together. T and I no doubt have some crazy times ahead of us with two little ones being fairly close in age, but we cannot wait for double the love!
Since this is my second baby, I’m so glad that I now know how incredibly fast and fleeting everything is (seriously – the newborn stage goes by at warp speed!) and how important it is to savor every single joyous moment and milestone but also know that any tough times won’t last forever as well.
And last, but certainly not least, I’m so excited to meet baby!
