Our sweet Lake is 3!
It’s so cliché to say but it seems like just yesterday she was born! Time is a thief in many regards, but especially when it comes to kids and how fast they grow up!

On the morning of her birthday, T and I woke her up by singing “Happy Birthday.” Her special day fell on a Monday so she wore her ‘three’ shirt to school (daycare) and took treats for all of her classmates and teachers. She got to wear a birthday crown all day, so she thought that was pretty cool. For her birthday dinner, she had two of her favorites – Fettuccine Alfredo, or “noodles” as she calls them and a chocolate cake pop from Starbucks.
We celebrated with T’s family last weekend and will be celebrating with my family soon as well. Lake loves Peppa Pig so she had a Peppa-themed party. Erin at Yum-E Cookies made the cutest Peppa cookies and I made a cake with a personalized Peppa cake topper. Lake’s favorite birthday gift we got her was a scooter. (I actually bought this back in December 2020 because it was on sale at Target, haha). We also got her a tee ball set, a Doc McStuffins play set (since she LOVES this book so much) and Paw Patrol toy figures.
In the past year, Lake became a big sister and has thrived in the role. Yes, there are absolutely times when she gets annoyed with her little sister (ahem…when she takes and/or knocks over her toys), but moreover, she is so sweet and caring with her. She also started participating in gymnastics which has been a lot of fun for her!
In her 2 year old birthday post, I talked about how I wanted to start a tradition where I interview her on her birthday every year in video form. Well, I did that this year and she did a great job answering all the questions! (I honestly wasn’t sure how it would go, but she was all about it!)
